Building my Flight and Racing Simulator

Role

Builder, Technician, Gamer

Skills Focus

Computer Technician, Fabrication

Project type

Fabrication

In 2019, I built a dual-purpose racing and flight simulator, marking my earliest hands-on engineering experience. I began by researching components and assembling a high-performance PC from scratch, which introduced me to computer hardware, power management, and cooling systems. To support both racing and flight controls, I modified a standard racing seat by designing and installing handmade brackets and mounts from off-the-shelf materials.

This project was something I built together with my dad, and it taught me how to work through hardware constraints, adapt parts to fit specific needs, and approach engineering problems with creativity. It became the foundation for the fabrication, integration, and prototyping skills I now use in FTC robotics.
